MetService New Zealand now offers marine forecasts via a convenient smartphone application. The application, available at no cost, provides users with a range of useful features:

<li>Recreational and Coastal marine forecasts</li>
<li>Severe weather alerts</li>
<li>Tides</li>
<li>7.5 minute Rain Radar</li>
<li>3-day rainfall forecast imagery with wind barbs</li>
<li>Surface pressure maps</li>
<li>User-selected default location that is saved on the Home screen</li>
<li>Option to customize the background image with a preferred fishing spot</li>
</ul>
Please note that the app does not include surf and beach forecasts or marine maps not specified above. It is designed for smartphones and does not provide support for tablets.
